Today we had a great time exploring what it would have been like to be a student in the 1870's. We got to experience first hand what it is like to sit in a one-room schoolhouse and participate in a class. There were many things to explore. Please respond
and write about your experience in the schoolhouse. How did you feel as a student there? What most interested you about the experience? Would
you have liked to have been a student in the 1870s? What you have enjoyed walking long distances to school in the winter? Would you have enjoyed having multi-grades in one building? Do you think it would have been confusing or orderly? What do you think?

Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteWhile we were walking, we saw Pop who works at UPS. Students and teacher of TLC-BG went to The educational Memorabilia Center BGSU, whic is one room school is a part of the university. The schoolhouse built in 1875. Also, it has two doors, which are one for men and the another one for women. The schoolhouse looks so beautiful. Inside the house, it has many pictures, flags, books, chairs, and tables. Also, it has ababacus, three bells, piano, jar of water, and typical cup. There is nearly 50 chairs for students, which are from the first grade until 12 grade. Also, we have read someting about M Guffy's Reader, which is for second grade, and established in 1879. In that book, how to pronouns the words, Interrogation mark, and Exclamation Mark, comma, and semicolon. In the winter, student do not have a car and they were coming to the class by horses, which it takes 7 miles. Also, their clothes were wet, but the schoolhouse has a heater machine, which is for colothes, socks and make the atmosphere warm. They study from 9 A.M until 3 P.M. When students are palying outside, teachers called them to come to the schoolhouse by a handle bell. Also, students who make noise or do not understand, teachers put them on especial seat, and put the Dunce on their heads, which is for stupid person, or clown, or miss behaved. Howevere; teachers has stick ,which is to hit some noisy students. In addition, we have gotten alphabet letters and how to write it. Also, we got a slide, which is small board like iPad, towel to erase, and chalk. In the end, we got a small music class and we sing that. It was a nice and amazing day.

Hey, my reflection about Educational Memorabilia Center/Little Red Schoolhouse. It is the oldest class in Bowling Green. They were using it for different student age and it was 12 grades. So it contains two blackboards. And they was small board for student to writ their assignment. It is nice class and the students were coming to it by horses because it is far away from them.
